St. Cecelia Catholic School Playground

SDF Contracting was selected by St. Cecelia Catholic School in St. Petersburg to carry out an extensive renovation of the school's playground — a project that addressed longstanding safety concerns, drainage problems, and surface conditions that had reached the end of their serviceable life.

The work began with a full excavation of the existing playground surface, removing deteriorated material down to a sound base. New concrete was poured to establish proper grades and structural support for the features to follow. A retaining wall was constructed where grade changes required it, providing long-term stability and preventing future erosion or surface displacement.

A new bubbler and updated fencing were installed as part of the scope, and a fresh safety ground surface was laid throughout the play areas to current standards. The project manager assigned to the job maintained a daily on-site presence throughout each phase, ensuring that the work stayed on schedule and that any changes requested by school administration were incorporated with minimal disruption.

The finished playground delivered a safe, functional, and well-drained outdoor space appropriate for the school's student population — completed to a standard that led the school administration to commit to engaging SDF for future campus projects.
