Request a Free EstimateThe Team Actually Swinging the Hammer
General contracting is the core of what SDF Contracting LLC does. When an owner hires us as the general contractor, we take full responsibility for building the project: the estimate, the schedule, the subcontractors, the superintendent in the field, the safety program, the quality of the work, and the closeout package. One licensed firm, one point of accountability, from mobilization through final walk.
We work on both hard bid and negotiated contracts across St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, and the broader Tampa Bay region. Projects range from commercial tenant buildouts and religious facilities to custom residential, multi-family, and municipal work. Florida CGC1506421 and CBC1255772 mean we can self-perform or subcontract on both commercial and residential projects under the same roof.
What owners tend to value most about working with SDF is that the people estimating the job are the same people visiting the job site, and the field team reporting into them has been doing this long enough to see trouble before it shows up on a schedule. That continuity between office and field is what keeps projects honest.

Scope
What a General Contracting Engagement Includes
Every project is different, but a full-service general contracting engagement with SDF typically covers these six areas.
Estimating & Bidding
Professional, transparent estimates built from current Tampa Bay market pricing and a subcontractor network we've vetted over decades of local work.
Project Management
Dedicated project managers running budget, schedule, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and owner reporting from preconstruction through closeout.
Site Superintendence
Full-time superintendents in the field running the day-to-day, coordinating trades, running safety meetings, and keeping the work in line with the drawings and specs.
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
We manage the trade contractors and suppliers, not the owner. Scopes are buyout cleanly, schedules are coordinated in the field, and scope gaps are our problem to solve.
Permitting & Inspections
We handle permitting with St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, and surrounding jurisdictions, coordinate required inspections, and carry the project through final certificate of occupancy.
Closeout & Warranty
Punch list, commissioning, as-builts, operation and maintenance manuals, training, and warranty service. The project is not done when the building is done; it is done when the owner has everything they need to operate it.

Why SDF
Three Generations of Florida General Contracting
Dual-Licensed CGC & CBC
Florida CGC1506421 and CBC1255772 in-house means commercial and residential work under one licensed firm, with no handing the project to a sister company or a partner when scope crosses between the two.
Built-In Tampa Bay Network
Three generations of Pinellas County work means a subcontractor bench, supplier relationships, and plan review familiarity you cannot replicate as an out-of-market firm, and those relationships directly translate to better pricing and fewer schedule surprises.
Office and Field, Same Page
The people pricing your project are the same people who will walk the job, and the field team reports directly to them. No disconnect between the number in the contract and what actually happens on site.
