Our Story
SDF Contracting, LLC is a privately held, fully insured and bonded General Contracting and Construction Management firm located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Founded in 2014, the firm specializes in commercial construction such as offices, retail centers, warehouses, churches and educational facilities, and we also handle residential construction including new homes, multi-family, additions, and restoration services.
Construction has been a Fernald family tradition in Pinellas County since the 1920's. Shawn D. Fernald began his construction career in 1993 working for his father, Steve Fernald, directly out of high school. After receiving his college degree in 1998, he advanced to project superintendent, then to project manager in 2001, managing numerous successful projects both large and small with varying degrees of difficulty. In July 2014, he formed SDF Contracting, LLC to carry on the family tradition of providing quality and professional construction services.
