The Sunshine Automotive Project

SDF Contracting delivered a complete design-build automotive collision facility for Sunshine Automotive in St. Petersburg, Florida. The project began with the demolition of existing structures on site, clearing the way for a ground-up build that included a reinforced concrete slab engineered to handle the demands of a full-service collision shop.

The metal building system was designed to accommodate oversized vehicle bays with adequate ceiling clearance, dedicated paint and prep areas, and a separate customer-facing office and waiting space. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were roughed in and coordinated to meet both code requirements and the specific operational needs of an automotive repair environment.

All associated site work was completed under SDF's direction, including grading, paving, parking layout, and utility connections. The project was delivered on schedule from November 2016 through April 2017, demonstrating SDF's capability to manage every phase of a commercial design-build project from concept through certificate of occupancy.
